Kathmandu: Under the 17th National ASA
Exhibition organized by the Association of Students of Architecture (ASA),
Pulchowk Campus, a one-day grand Symposium on the theme “Rethinking
Public Buildings” is set to take place on Poush 7 (December 22),
guided by the main slogan “Between Possibilities and Precision.”
The program
will be held at the Library Hall of Pulchowk Campus from 11:00 AM to
4:00 PM. According to the organisers, the symposium aims to foster in-depth
discussion and critical dialogue on the planning, design, structural safety,
inclusivity, and institutional implementation processes of public buildings in
Nepal.
In the
formal session, Prof. Dr. Sushil B. Bajracharya, Dean of the Institute
of Engineering (IOE), will attend as the Chief Guest. The welcome
address will be delivered by Namaraj Lamichhane, Coordinator of the
17th National ASA Exhibition and Program Chair. Dr. Shreehari Thapa will
be present as a Special Guest Speaker.
A major
highlight of the symposium will be the discussion session, where Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Sanjay Uprety, Campus Chief of Pulchowk Campus, will deliver the Keynote
Address.

discussion session will be chaired by Dr. Jagadish Chandra Pokharel,
former Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, and moderated
by Architect Yugantar Paudel.
The program
will also include a live question-and-answer session and an open forum,
encouraging active interaction among students, policymakers, experts, and
professionals, with the expectation of strengthening dialogue and
