abroadkhabar.com
January 21, 2026

It usually starts in late 2025/early 2026 (December-January) and ends in or around February-April 2026 (the exact dates differ depending on the country/university, in Nepal, it is usually January-March). Results announced April - July 2026; programs begin September 2026 (or February 2027 in some cases).

Research and Prepare:

-        Select universities/programs (use Campus China portal: https://www.campuschina.org).

-        Validate eligibility, language skills and agency number (with Type A: Typically, the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu will provide Nepal with its dispatching authority code).

-        Collect documents (notarized ones will be necessary in many cases).

-        Bachelor: The 2026 intakes have some instances of China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) score (new requirement).

Online application under CSC System (Main Step):

-        Application and registration: at the official CSC portal: http://www.campuschina.org or studyinchina.csc.edu.cn.

-        Type of scholarship (Type A embassy route; Type B university).

-        Complete the online application (personal data, course of study, university selection -3 Type A/B).

-        Send/print CSC Application Form (PDF) upon submission.

-        post original documents (scanned documents).

Send to Dispatching Authority (Type A– Nepali Route):

-        Turn in CSC printed form with all the documents to Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu or MoEST Nepal (refer to the embassy site, for the address/method of submitting).

-        Nepal has a process in which it is usually screened at the MoEST or embassy.

-        Pay the necessary fees (minimal or none).

University Application (Parallel or Required):

-        In case of Type B: Directly apply to universities through their portals (most of them will be required to make different applications).

-        In case of Type A: Once nominated, you may be approached by the university in case of pre-admission.

-        There are some universities that mandate pre-admission/pre-acceptance letters.

Interviews/Additional Steps:

-        University/embassy can interview (e.g., February- March).

-        Present hard copies, when necessary.

Results and Visa:

-        CSC reports performance (April 2026-July 2026).

-        In case of award, get admission letter + JW201/JW202 visa form.

-        X1/X2 student visa application at Kathmandu Chinese Embassy.

-        Register in China (September 2026 on average).
