Saudi Arabia Launches Airstrike on Yemen’s Port over Alleged UAE Weapons Shipment

Mukalla, Yemen / Riyadh

December 30, 2025

Saudi Arabia has carried out airstrikes on a port city in Yemen, causing fresh concern around the world about rising tensions in the Middle East.

According to Saudi officials, the attack targeted weapons they believe were being sent to armed groups in southern Yemen. Saudi Arabia claims the weapons arrived through the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and could have threatened security in the region. The airstrikes hit parts of the Mukalla port, an important coastal city that has already suffered years of war.

People living nearby said they heard loud explosions and saw smoke rising from the port area. While there is no clear information yet about civilian casualties, the strike has created fear among local families who are already struggling with poverty, food shortages, and displacement due to the long-running conflict in Yemen.

The news has drawn international concern. The United Nations and humanitarian groups have urged all sides to remain calm, warning that more fighting could make life even harder for ordinary Yemenis. Some countries have also asked Saudi Arabia and the UAE to explain the situation clearly to avoid further misunderstanding.

Experts say this incident could increase tensions between Middle Eastern allies and slow down any chances for peace in Yemen. Many fear that if such actions continue, the conflict could spread and affect trade routes, oil prices, and global stability.

For now, the world is watching closely, hoping that diplomacy will take over before the situation becomes worse, especially for innocent civilians caught in the middle of the conflict.
