The Korea Visa Application Centre (KVAC) was
officially inaugurated in Kathmandu on Friday with the objective of making the
visa application process more accessible, organised, and efficient for Nepali
applicants. The centre has been established at the OneSky Building in Lalitpur, and the inauguration ceremony was attended by South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Tae-young, HanaTour CEO Song Mi-sun, senior officials from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), as well as representatives from the local business
and tourism sectors.
Operated by HanaTour, the KVAC is expected to play a
key role in handling the growing number of visa applications from Nepal, driven
by increasing people-to-people exchanges, educational opportunities,
employment, tourism, and business ties between Nepal and South Korea. The new
centre will provide a more structured system for submitting applications, collecting biometric data, verifying documents, and managing appointments, thereby reducing congestion and processing delays.
With the establishment of KVAC, applicants will
benefit from clearer guidance, improved service standards, and a more
transparent process, minimising errors and uncertainty. Overall, the centre
reflects the strengthening bilateral relationship between Nepal and South Korea
and demonstrates a shared commitment to facilitating mobility, cooperation, and
mutual engagement between the two countries.
