Kathmandu, December 20,

On International Human
Solidarity Day, the Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus powered by Hima Aus
Offshore., in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Metropolitan, organized
a heartwarming and impactful event titled "Impact Event: A Celebration of
Inclusivity" at the Center for Disabled Children Assistance (CDCA) in
Budhanilkantha-11, Kapan, Kathmandu.
The event brought
together our team from Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, and medical
assistance from Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Metropolitan to support
differently-abled children aged 6-20 years, aligning perfectly with the day's
theme of global solidarity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals,
particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced
Inequalities).
Our teams arrived at
the venue at around 11:30 AM, quickly transforming the center into a space
filled with care and joy. The Rotaract Club set up a dental and medical camp
where every child received free dental checkups, thorough basic health
consultations, and essential medicines distributed under medical guidance.
The Hult Prize team
distributed stationery items including notebooks, pencils, and colored pencils,
giving the children tools to express their creativity and continue their
learning.
Soon, the center echoed
with laughter and music. Members from Hult Prize at IOE danced with the
children, building beautiful connections and lots of smiles. Then, the children
stole the show with their own performances, sharing their amazing talents and
reminding everyone of their strengths and spirit.
As the day drew to a
close around 3:00 PM, the children enjoyed a nutritious and delicious meal
featuring steaming momos from Shandar Momo, fresh snacks from Romi Bakery Cafe,
and refreshing Real juice from Dabur Nepal. These simple gestures of sharing
food brought smiles and a sense of togetherness that perfectly captured the
spirit of the occasion.
Through health
services, educational support, entertainment, and shared meals, the event not
only met immediate needs but also raised awareness about inclusive healthcare
and reduced inequalities, directly contributing to UN Sustainable Development
Goals 3 and 10. More than an outreach program, it was a beautiful celebration
of solidarity, proving that small acts of kindness and inclusion can create
lasting positive change in the lives of those who need it most.
